: I know it's pretty sad. It's ok to hate it, after all everyone has the right to hate and critique. But so far none of them seem to have given any crucial mistakes that can condemn this sample and justify their hate for it other than " it's drawn like a painting, it's never been done before therefore I hate it". Every single negative response is based around the same unique reason that I already mentioned. The most mind-boggling aspect of all this is that there is this candidate who pretty much nailed it in terms of accurate depiction of two people having sex while also keeping a close resemblance to the actual characters and yet are more willing to give a chance to the other two, who in no disrespect towards them, failed to reproduce the same impressive results by bad coloring, bad body proportions, lack of genuine facial expression, lack of any realistic details ( most notorious the cop-out zipper pussy etc. ) . And why is that? Just because this was painted and not drawn. I really hope in the end HK will realize this one has by far the bigger potential to succeed in Ellery's footsteps and therefore give Candidate 3 the chance he/she deserves.

: It's true the tones are a bit dark but when I said the coloring is ok I was referring to the fact that although it's a bit dark the colors manage to blend well with each other thus they get to look more natural and also you can see that the colors on them gradually intensify so to say which gives the impression that there is light there that affects them as well while in this pic the colors keep pretty much same intensity everywhere giving the impression there are lighting effects there. And I really don't see this sample as close to Bleach. Nemu's body has inconsistent proportions, she looks to young , their faces are nowhere near how they look, and have no facial expressions. Go as far as compare at the very least a Nemu pic by Ellery with this. Her face here doesn't even come close. But as I said before. The pics here are about the characters having sex. Thus the body, face and expressions need to be done well. This one just didn't manage to hit those key elements.

: This has got to be the most far-fetched accusation I've ever read. And really now? Since when is there a thing as knowing "REAL PORN" by just looking at a pic. I get that you don't like this sample it's pretty clear but don't go off throwing accusations like that with no proof. For all we know all Candidate's probably didn't have the background sets that Ellery had when she was working here so they just had to resort to using others. This Candidate could've just used as a background a picture of his own room, one can never know. And really what angles are you talking about in Candidate 1's sample. There's no impressive angle approached there. And that sample has bad coloring ( and I'm not referring to the color palette that was used )and the line art is just too wild and messy. From that I can tell he either rushed it up or he just doesn't have a sense of quality towards the works he's doing. And again the characters look really bad. Bland expression and they look very little to how they should. Again Nemu's face and hairstyle didn't even came close to how they are. And really now if you can't get Nemu's hairstyle at the very least right what can you expect from him when he'll have to do Matsumoto's or others that have a more complex appearance. Not to mention the boobs or pussy which have no details at all and are pretty badly drawn. All in all the only thing Candidate 1 got right is the color palette and nothing else. I understand these are raw samples but still you gotta put some effort into them. This one on the other hand manages to fulfill most of the elements that are required from an artist to do right in pics that should depict characters having sex. The body. It is proportionate, the facial expression is clearly there, the cum looks natural enough ( at the very least you can tell it is something liquid and not just some random white lines ), the face manages to match very closely Orihime's face ( notice the shape of her head which is pretty close to the head shape Tite Kubo applies to his characters ). The coloring is better ( yes the color palette might need some improvement ) but I'm referring to the fact that the colors looks more natural, they seem to be able to blend well with each other unlike the other samples. Also the small details like Inoue's hair. Unlike Candidate 1's or the other one her hair actually looks like it's affected by gravity the way it should as well as the way the hair rest on the sheets which look, yet again, much more closer to how they would in reality. I think that most people agree that this Candidate is the best, even some that have voted for the other samples. I think that the reason they are so skeptic towards this Candidate is because he has chosen to do his raw sample from a different artistic approach ( painting ) which might have created some doubts for them due to this style never being approached before. Still I think it's better if Candidate 3 gets the job since, although he painted this, it's far better in overall quality than the others. This one really has potential and it would be a real loss if he doesn't get the job.

z: don't assume too much as that is mostly what they say about rex, ellery, darwin when they all started the blogs few years ago (they are even traditional artists back then) but after some period of time they were able to workout their skill set and look at them now. a real eye opener knows how to see talent it would be unfair to judge the outcome of this blog because of these few candidate's samples. i believe in every artist, if given with proper guidance and - their skill set can be tapped and improved.

z: for those who are not used with looking at "REAL PORN" notice the background of this sample - it came from a real porn picture then blurred out.. in my opinion, this position was traced from a picture got from a porn site and changed the head and applied some style to make it look like hentai.. so yeh, you praise the proportion on this one but honestly if this artist starts to draw requests from members, he's not the type like #1 who can manage different angles without tracing. no wonder the body looks like western....

Hinamori: As for my opinion on these samples. I will say that I actually like this one more than the other two. Like the guy before me said, the third one looks like it was painted. I think the artist is good, but not Bleach good. I really don't think the color fits the theme. As for choice one, it's alright but I honestly don't care much for it. Hard to explain why not. As for this picture, sure it isn't as detailed as the others but I like this one a lot more. With this picture I see more emotion than the others, and even a lot of Ellery's drawings. Also this one feels more alive than the others. Hard to explain it. As for the art style of this picture I do wish they'd show us more samples from the artists, they said these are raws; it would be nice seeing completed pictures from them so we know what they're capable of, even if the pictures aren't Bleach related, that way we have more to go off of.

z: i agree and disagree on other grounds… a lot don't see bleach in #3 than of #1.. i didn't imply just proportionality but this isn't the way pixxx style is drawn. yes #3 has good proportions but i don't see orihime's body in that…and speaking of elements, i hope you would also see #3 has it's misses in its line-art as well. If these candidates were told to create a sample similar to bleach - then these should portray what is near on the style itself and not their own. how can you say that coloring is ok in #3 when it is too yellow or orange (it doesn't compare to the actual skin tone of orihime).. the reason why ellery's pinup stands out is because the artist based these elements or qualities on the actual style of bleach. in which case - these are things i don't see in #3. I have praises for #2 as the artist is able to draw the facial anatomy close to orihime there - and i think looking at the way it's drawn - i think #3 is more used to different angles than of #2. just my 2 cents...

: So far this one is my favorite. I like the faces. Sure the lines are a little weird in some places and some people may call them "too soft," but I like it. It helps the body actually blend together with itself like Orihime's ear. The outline is gentle enough to where the ear doesn't look like it's a separate entity from the head. The jaw lines are a little to sharp angled though. I like the coloring and shading a lot.The skin tones are also grand. My major problem is with the nipples. I know there are people with puffy nipples like that, and this is really just a personal preference. I mean, puffy nipples to me look like gumdrops. And I just don't like gumdrops. Still, you have my vote.

WolfNRoses: I'd have to say this is pretty good. The bodies are well drawn, the faces need work. And also the nipples look like they don't quite belong where you put them on the breasts which also makes the nipples look too small. The lines are good. Last thing to note is that for some reason the coloring is off in some places if you look zoomed it. Some of this is due to colors going outside the lines such as some red on Mayuri's bottom teeth. But for some reason there's a lot of yellow where there is no real reason for their to be yellow. On the gums between several of his teeth there is yellow. One the purple collar there is yellow bits all throughout even if the places where it doesn't come close to the background or the golden beard thing on his head. And for some reason there's also yellow at the base of his dick if you look close enough, along with yellow in various places on his captain's haori and standard black uniform. I'd have to place this as number 2 in my votes. I like Candidate #2's the best.

: No not really. Anime style drawing doesn't imply body perfection. Also as someone else pointed out already if you can't draw the body proportionally right especially considering the idea behind the art here than you're no good. Candidate 1 doesn't have any sense of body proportions and there are no expressions on the girl as well as faces being drawn bad ( he didn't even get Nemu's simple hairstyle right ). He missed out on the most important elements in a picture that demands those elements to be right. And also the coloring isn't good. Yes the color palette is good enough but if you look closely you'll notice colors are going through the line art mixing a bit with the other colors. Candidate 2 does better with the proportions than Candidate 1 but is the least impressive in terms of coloring. Candidate 3 is the best since everything is proportionate, the coloring is ok and the perspectives are just as well. The only reason I'm seeing why this is still in a debate is because Candidate 3 chose to do his/her pic as an oil painting style. Maybe next time it'll be better if he does it just as a normal drawing so that people can rest assured he/she's as good as some fail to see.

hatake: To be honest I like this one more than the other ones. I like the way they drew the characters, although I think the lines need improvement. And as for the colors They'd also need improvement. As for the Candidate 3's picture, I find the colors too dark. That one doesn't feel like a Bleach picture. Candidate 1's is alright, but I don't like the way they drew the faces. I prefer the faces in this picture. I'd like to see a few more samples from this person if possible

z: i think what others should take a look is how close and how fine they can compare it to anime art - candidate #3 is not anime style (look at the body - even though it's proportionally drawn - it looks more western not anime. anime body is supposed to be fictional perfect - orihime has big breasts - but it doesn't show in that art... candidate #2 has issues with thick and thin but it's not so bad imo.. candidate #1 - let's say it doesn't look like mayuri but once the artist gets used with the facial anatomy of bleach, this is has more potential.

Vamp: This photo bothers me a lot, and i couldn't figure out why at first. But after a few minutes it suddenly stuck out like a sore thumb. The shadowing is impossible. There would have to be a light source both behind the male to his right and where the artist perspective is. But that cant happen with out one light source affecting the shadows of the other.

shinigami: Everything about this image screams 'wrong'. Mayuri looks like he should he in Squad 11 while nemu looks far too young. In addition to the issues outlined, it is clear that the artist has just ppiced a random backdrop from the anime and dropped in a couple of people doing it without making it appear as if they belong there.

shinigami: I find the blush on Orihime's face distracts from the rest of the picture. One of the first things that I always check are the faces because they shouldn't draw attention to themselves. Unfortunately, in this picture, the face detracts from the rest of the elements, despite how good they are

shinigami: I really like this one over all of the others. This is because the artist, whoever they are, has just about nailed the faces of both Rukia and Orihime. If the artist works on their colour selection and backgrounds a bit then, unlike the other two, the artist will be able to pick up where the last one (Ellery) left off.

Bob: This one looks best to me. The faces could use some work (especially Mayuri), but this definitely looks most similar to Bleach. The coloring is perfect, the shadows and lines are great, and the attention paid to detail is wonderful. The clothing looks fantastic and really makes this one stand out. I'd love to see more from this artist, there is a lot of potential here.

Bob: I think this is pretty good. The artist clearly has a high quality and realistic style, and definitely shows the pleasure in her face. I'm just not so sure this style feels like Bleach. The skill is absolutely there though, so I imagine this artist could make it look closer to the real deal. I'd have to see more to make a decision but #1 is my favorite so far.
